About & legal
About cycling.live
cycling.live brings cycling news, race data and the discussion around it into one place, across road, MTB, gravel, track, cyclocross, BMX, para-cycling and trials.
We stream some races ourselves, for example the UCI HERO XCM World Cup and The Traka. For all other races we embed or link footage from the rights holders and show where to watch.
Reading and watching are free. An account is needed to give a Chapeau, comment, post, vote and follow.

Terms of use
- Who can join
- From 13 years. Users aged 13–15 need consent from a parent by email; until then interactions stay locked.
- Your account
- One account per person. Usernames are unique and can be changed every 30 days. Keep your login safe.
- Your content
- You keep the rights to what you post. You allow cycling.live to show it on the site and in the app, including in rankings and the live rooms.
- Not allowed
- Content you have no rights to, harassment, hate speech, spam, impersonation, and doping or misconduct accusations without a source.
- Reputation points
- RP and tiers have no monetary value and cannot be transferred or exchanged. Fan rumours and race predictions are a prediction game, not betting: no stakes, no payouts.
- Ending an account
- You can delete your account at any time. We can suspend accounts that break these terms or the community rules.
- Law
- Swiss law applies. Place of jurisdiction: .
Privacy policy
- What we store
- Account data (email, username, year of birth), what you post and react to, who you follow, uploaded rides (GPX/TCX) and an optional Strava profile link.
- Why
- To run your account, rank the Hub, show your profile and send the notifications you chose. What you do while signed in (posts, comments, Chapeau, follows, votes, views) is stored with your account and used for personalisation and RP, as accepted at sign-up.
- Without an account
- No tracking cookies, no personalised tracking, no fingerprinting and nothing stored per visitor. That's why there is no cookie banner.
- Cookies
- Only what the site needs: the sign-in session and security cookies, and your time zone, which stays in your browser's local storage on this device (signed in, it is saved with your account).
- Site analytics
- Vercel Web Analytics shows us traffic in aggregate (pages, referrers, countries, devices). It sets no cookies and keeps no persistent visitor identifier.
- Page counts
- Opening a page sends a small cookieless request to our server, which adds one to an hourly counter for that page. We store no IP address, browser details or identifier with it, filter obvious bots and never show the counts publicly.
- Embedded media
- Posts and videos from Instagram, X, Strava, YouTube and rights holders show a placeholder until you click Load content. Only then does your browser contact that service, which may set its own cookies. A click loads that one embed only.
- Where
- Servers in . We don’t sell personal data.
- How long
- Until you delete your account. Accounts that never accept the terms, never confirm their email or never get a parent's consent are deleted after 30 days.
- Photos and videos
- Photos you post are re-encoded before they are published, which removes the location and camera details stored in the file. Videos are stored and streamed by Mux. Both are public with your post and are deleted with your account.
- Feedback
- What you send with the feedback form: the message, the page, your device and browser, your account if you are signed in, an email address if you want a reply, and a screenshot if you attach one. Only our team sees it; it is deleted with your account.
- Your rights
- See, export, correct or delete your data in your account settings, or write to us.

Community rules
- Be fair
- Criticise riders, teams and posts, not people. No insults, no hate.
- Show your source
- News, transfers and rumours need a link or a clear source. Accusations of doping or misconduct without one are removed.
- Chapeau
- Chapeau is the only reaction. One per person per item, given to what you respect, not to what you agree with.
- Your own media
- Upload only photos and clips you made yourself. Race footage belongs to the rights holders.
- Spoilers
- Results go in the race room or posts tagged with the race, not in titles of unrelated posts during live coverage.
- Moderation
- Capitaines, Patrons and the cycling.live team can hide content. Report anything with ··· → Report.
- Consequences
- First a warning, then a 7-day mute, then a ban. Clear abuse leads to a ban straight away.
Copyright & takedown
cycling.live streams only races it holds rights for. All other footage is embedded from the rights holders’ own players or linked to their sites.
- Report content
- Email with the link on cycling.live, the original source and proof that you hold the rights.
- Response time
- Within 24 hours on race days, otherwise within 72 hours. The content is hidden while we check.
- Counter-notice
- The user who posted it is informed and can respond with proof of their own rights.
- Repeat cases
- Accounts that upload others’ footage repeatedly are suspended.
